A letter from our founder

Dear reader,

I started Terrace because I was learning a language and every app wanted me to play games with cartoon owls, and every newspaper wanted me to already be fluent. There was nothing in between — nothing written for an adult who wants to actually understand the world in another language, at the level they're really at today.

So we built the thing I wished existed: real news, written and edited by native speakers, at your level — not simplified by a machine, not gamified into oblivion. Just good writing you can actually read, every day, that gets a little harder as you do.
